The International Charity Organization launched the Mosques and Wells Campaign for the year 2024 with the aim of helping poor and needy villages and supporting them with charitable projects that include building, maintaining and furnishing mosques, in addition to digging and maintaining wells and distributing drinking water by tankers to poor villages and other charitable projects with a value exceeding 11 million dirhams.
On this occasion, His Excellency Dr. Khalid Abdul Wahab Al Khaja, Secretary-General of the Organization, stated that the International Charity Organization has allocated a campaign for mosques and wells due to the importance of these projects through what it has seen of an urgent need in the destitute areas that the Organization has visited, especially in Africa, where villagers perform their prayers in the open, under the shade of trees or in old mosques that pose a danger to them, in addition to the urgent need for drinking water, as residents of poor villages quench their thirst with polluted water that causes diseases and epidemics and threatens their lives with danger.
His Excellency added that developing communities through launching sustainable projects is the approach that the International Charity Organization has followed since its inception, calling on benefactors, both male and female, to contribute to the campaign’s projects as they have in the past, resulting in successful campaigns with their generous support and abundant giving, asking Allah to give them great reward and great recompense.
